Today, Smash Delta’s recent mobility and housing research was published in Melbourne’s The Age and Domain. The research investigated the relationship between public transport access and housing affordability in Melbourne’s suburbs, leveraging data from the Department of Health & Human Services and open mobility data.
As a result of the analysis, particular high-value neighbourhoods were uncovered - particularly in Melbourne’s inner west - highlighting areas suitable for urban renewal programs and ideal for city-commuting millennials.
The research marks another step in Smash Delta’s effort to highlight the value of open data and analytics in building more equitable and efficient cities.
